New to LFA?

WHAT TO EXPECT
At Lancaster First Assembly you will enjoy upbeat music and practical messages that help you deal with real life issues. You will experience an atmosphere of celebration where people of all cultures and backgrounds come together excited to worship Jesus in a casual setting.

We want you to make some new friends or mingle with people you may already know and enjoy participating in one of our services in the Worship Center. Discover that what you learn on the weekend you'll be able to use during the week. Whether you join us in the main service or in one of our small group meetings, we want to help you. As a guest to Lancaster First Assembly, you will not be embarrassed or singled out by being asked to stand up and give your name.

Here is what you a typical service might look like:

Music
We'll sing songs of praise and worship to the Lord. Feel free to participate with us in singing as a congregation or enjoy just listening to the music - hearing the words and voices from our worship leaders and musicians. Some people like to stand the entire time, some like to sit. Just come and feel free to be yourself!

Prayer/Welcome and Community
At the conclusion of singing, we have a time of prayer because God is waiting for you, ready to listen to your hurt, pain, passion, and desires. At times in our service, you will find caring and loving people who are available to pray with you and for you at the front of our stage area. Please fell free to come forward at any point of the prayer time. Once our prayer time is over we then transition into giving you an opportunity to meet the people around you. Then we’ll share some things about what's going on at Lancaster First.

Giving
For those who value what Lancaster First Assembly is all about and are learning to give, this is the time in our service where we give back to God a portion of what He has given us.

Message
Pastor Majeske will give a message applying God's truths found in the Bible to life's challenges. Our presentation often includes illustrations, videos, props, and life stories (testimonies). The notes you fill in will help you apply the practical lessons to your life.

Closing
A short closing prayer and that's it. If you like, individual prayer is available in the Prayer Room after every service. Feel free to connect with others at the Information Table in our Lobby if you have any questions.

WHAT DOES LFA HAVE FOR YOUR FAMILY?
Lancaster First Assembly is a church for all generations. This includes every child, teenager, single, and married adult. Our church family would love to welcome you to our church. We offer opportunities for people in your household to enjoy themselves as they encounter God through the Bible and worship with people just like you.

The church family discovers God through our worship services on Sundays at 9:00am and 10:45am in the Worship Center. On Sundays we develop people through LifeSolution classes, which we have for all ages.  Most LifeSolution classes meet at 9:00am but some do meet during the 10:45am service as well. This gives everyone a chance to attend an age-defined LifeSolution class and also attend the main service in the Worship Center. Nursery care and Children's Ministry are available on Sunday mornings.  We also have a Spanish Ministry that meets at 10:45am in the Champion Center and  Korean Ministry that meets at 10:45am in Room 104 B&C.

On Wednesday nights the nursery opens at 6:30pm and allows adults to join a LifeGroup elective class of their choosing from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. We have M'Pact Girls Ministry, Royal Rangers for boys, and Pulse Student Ministry Heartbeat Groups for Jr. High and High School students.

As you look at our website, you'll find a variety of information relevant to you.  Our calendar contains a complete list of activities besides our main services, LifeGroups, and LifeSolution classes. We hope this helps you get a personal and friendly first look at LFA, but the best way to find out all that's here for you and your family is to come and visit us this Wednesday or this weekend.

What do you offer for my young children?
We know that as a parent you need to be sure that your children are in a SAFE learning environment. And we know that children are looking for a FUN place to discover God. We’ve invested a lot to make sure that both these goals are reached. For the youngest attendee we have professionally maintained nursery and preschool areas designed to meet their physical and spiritual needs. Our grade school children have an amazing service with a live worship band, loads of fun at a service designed just for them. And as always, the well-trained adult leadership staff guarantees a safe experience for your child. To learn more about the ministry to our children click here.

What do you offer for my teenager?
We provide great opportunities for youth, and we have well trained leadership team who is thrilled to help your teenager during the transitional times of their lives. The will discover God through relevant Biblical teaching, exciting mid week small groups and Sunday night services designed to help them develop spiritually and relationally and serve God by serving their community and church. What do you offer adults?
With a long history as a church of many generations, the opportunities for sound Biblical teaching for adults have always been crucial. The programs may change semester by semester and the location of the classes may be new, but the principals from the word of God we teach will help adults on their journey through life. And its much more than programs, its about creating situations where friendships and life-long relationships can be made and nurtured. So let us get the chance to get to know you and become friends.

STANDARDS FOR MINISTRY

At Lancaster First Assembly, we believe that God has called us to be apart of the most important work in history. We are convinced that He has not only called us but equipped us to achieve our tasks. Therefore, our commitment and passionate pursuit will be to accomplish this end as we demonstrate these five standards of ministry.

1.  Wise stewardship over all we have!
God has entrusted Lancaster First Assembly with profound gifts, talents and resources. That is why, we will strive to be wise in the resources-human, financial and facilities and increase them significantly in a way that pleases God and grows His Church.

Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:21

2.  Excellence in how we minister!
God deserves nothing but the highest value. That is why we will strive to do it in a way that shows dedication, passion, energy and high quality fitting for Jesus, our Lord and King. In everything we attempt, we need to ask this question, have we given God our very best?

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." 1;Colossians 3:17, 23-24

3.  Being effective in what we attempt to do!
God designed the church to fulfill His purpose on the earth and achieve victory for God's kingdom. We will value effort but will never be satisfied with being ineffective. That is why we will make sure to align all of our efforts and events to carry out our values successfully.

"Do you not know that in a race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."  I Corinthians 9:24

4.  Being authentic in who we are!
As God's people He has called us to be unique. We will learn from other ministries who are successful, but will not try to be their clones. We will do our best to be the best that God has called us to be.

"We speak as men approved by God to be trusted with the gospel! We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts. You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed-God is our witnes. We loved you so much that we delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us."  I Thessalonians 2:4-5, 8

5.  Bringing honor to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
The ministry at Lancaster First Assembly is not about us, it all about Jesus. We are not out to build our little kingdom here but rather are here to build the kingdom of God. All that we are and all that we do is done to bring glory and honor and praise to him.

"That for no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, hi work will be shown for what it is, because the day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work."  I Corinthians 3:11-13
